In 1989, there were more Porsche 962 Cs on the starting grid of the Le Mans 24 hour race than any other car. The Porsches led for many laps yet nevertheless did not appear on the winner?s podium. It has to be said that these models, designed in 1982, suffered from the advent of more recent engine developments, notably by Mercedes and Jaguar. But no one can forget the sequence of victories of this legendary model on the Le Mans circuit.
