Product description
Studies of the DC 6 were started during World War Two, to meet the US Air Force’s demands for long-range military cargo planes. It was converted for civilian transport immediately after the War and equiped with a pressurised cabin and the means to carry 52 to 68 passengers. UNITED AIRLINES was the first company to receive the DC 6, in April 1947. Two hundred and eighty six DC 6B’s were built until production stopped in 1958. The Heller variant shown here is a DC-6B „What if“ version, as it might have looked at Air France.
