U-Boot S/M Redoutable

The REDOUTABLE (S 611), the first French nuclear submarine, launched in March 1967, commissioned in 1971, decommissioned in 1991, is now the largest publicly exhibited museum submarine in the world. The hull is made of highly elastic steel, which allows diving depths of more than 200 m. The boat is powered by a KK reactor with enriched uranium and natural water under pressure. The armament includes 16 missiles, which are comparable to the US Polaris, and 4 torpedo tubes.
